Today, Nicole North of Petals Stems & Leaves continues to give us her take on the Royal Wedding with a truly inspired style shoot!
From Nicole:
Designing what could be done inside Buckingham Palace came easily for me. I sat and thought about Kate’s bouquet for almost a week before I knew what I wanted to do.
Since I think Kate will be wearing a very classic, elegant and full sleeved gown (for the ceremony at Westminster anyways) without a long train (she is travelling in a car to get to Westminster), I wanted her bouquet to be simple, yet beautiful enough to stand out on it’s own. A biedermeier bouquet is perfect for this! This style of bouquet is european-inspired and has very dramatic circular rings of flowers that are each tightly packed and carefully arranged. The geometry and contrast of a biedermeier is unsurpassed by any kind of bouquet and would suit Kate’s style perfectly. As for colour, it must be white. Even with her blue engagement ring, Kate reminds me of a modern day Jackie O and I don’t think a coloured bouquet is her style.

The centre point flower had to be a scented one as well as dainty, so gardenias were perfect. I then surrounded it by ranunculus and finally freesia. Underneath the freesia I placed a few stems of purple lavender, which is a royal british wedding tradition.
The ribbon work on the handle had to complement the bouquet as well as be fashionable. I didn’t want to go over the top, so I used 2 different kinds of ribbon. The base ribbon to make it look like a pleated and layered skirt, and the top ribbon to be a more dainty, and feathery as an accent. A great complement to a simple and stunning bouquet!

The Mad Hatter’s tea party was a decor trend we saw several examples of at the CSEME last week. However our favorite tea party table designed by Decor and More, took the cake. It incorporated just the right touch of elegance and whimsical to make the decor suitable for both child and adult. There were so many decor details to this design, with tea pots, rabbits, potions, and Mad Hatter labeled tea bags. We loved the all flowers cake centerpiece matched with adorable personal flower bouquet cupcakes. The whimsical blend of the patterned linens and garden flowers made this table design enchanted. Just imagine how an Alice in Wonderland themed bridal shower or even wedding could be absolutely charming.

A special treat to the theme décor challenge (see previous post) held at the Canadian Special Events & Meeting Expo was the table design by Designing Trendz. They are a full service event design and décor company with a talented creative team dedicated to orchestrating every aspect of an event, professionally and with flair. Their entry in the competition was absolutely decadent and all about sass and chocolate. Chocolate fountains presented to each seat while surrounded with chocolate kisses and chocolate dipped apples. We love the use of gorgeous orchids and the Dolce and Gabbana cheetah print chairs. Makes you wish you were sitting at whatever event this table was at. Congrats to Designing Trendz for placing first aswell in the theme décor challenge! Stay tuned for more posts of other table inspirations from this inspiring event.

We also took a look at their company’s booth to see several table design concepts as follows. They all were fabulous to say the least.
