A hidden gem in Toronto Wedding Photography is Dawn Man of Yellow Barn Photography who, while new on the scene, is definitely one to watch. We recently caught up with her and she shared this beautiful wedding of Deanna & Kevin. Her weddings seem the perfect mix of laidback chic and elegance. I HEART these images… and so will you!

Toronto Photographers, AliphAurMeem, sent us this beautiful wedding of Ali and Nasma on July 25, 2010 at Platinum Convention Centre. A very traditional yet modern affair this wedding was stunning from the bride’s traditional red lengha and groom’s black sherwani to the gorgeous decor - a mélange of red and purple drapes, gold furniture and accent pieces and shiny silver and blue beads – making the space look more like a Mughal castle than a wedding.
I just love how beautifully everything tied together – the colours, the textures and the happy newlyweds! Enjoy the delicious eye-candy!

KBT Photography LOVE Feature!

Photojournalist and global traveler Katherine B Topolniski had honed a career based on her unique way of interacting, opting to build lasting relationships with her clientele rather than deigning to suit the status quo. Having begun photography at the age of 9 and going on to work with the likes of brides and grooms, growing families and communities in Africa (who, due to the language barrier, communicated with her solely based on visual and physical cues), the Loyalst College graduate expanded her work from Toronto to Alberta earlier this year, adding breathtaking mountain tops of Canada’s west to her portfolio already burgeoning with everything from cityscapes to desert suns.
“Photography for me is not about my gear, technical tricks or techniques, or… Read the rest of her LOVE Feature

A belated congratulations is in order today ( or some serious fist pumpin’) for a few of our very own, near and dear Vendor Elite superstars who recently had a feature on Style Me Pretty! Erin Samuell of A Simple Photograph, and Ida of Sweet Sweets came together to pull off one heck of a wedding for Shelley Inglis, of Shell Design Weddings.  Shelly announced the news of her engagement (drum roll please…) just 8 weeks before her wedding date!   So, keep in mind that all of these fabulous details came together in 8 weeks… that’s 2 months… she’s a superhero, and clearly one of the best planners in the region.  Shelley planned her  reception at the newest place to be in the K/W region, The Tannery; and incorporated personal touches such as her framed proposal, hand stitched hankies, and even had Sweet Sweets add a poem Shelley’s hubby had wrote to her to their cake!  Please enjoy these lovely photos taken by Erin!

My friend and colleague, Taylor Jackson, just posted the sweetest wedding on his blog yesterday!  Sasa and Kasia were married at the Estates of Sunnybrook in Vaughn, and it seemed to be a lovely day for it as the pictures are simply beautiful!  Taylor has a very special way of being able to photograph the personalities of his couples, and for me personally (and probably you too!) it’s always a treat to view his latest work because he tells a story through his pictures and I just can’t seem to get enough of these gorgeous couples!  I invite you to peruse his latest wedding, the marriage of Sasa and Kasia who you may recognize from their cute, cute engagement shoot on Taylor’s blog as well!

Enjoy!

I love this idea!  I definitely will have to borrow the the snooze button vow from this handsome groom!

Another little gem up on the blog today for you to daydream about while you’re plugging away at work (or possibly not at work and enjoying the sunshine?) Either way, Erin Samuell of A Simple Photograph sent us a lovely little spread of pictures which she photographed at the end of July, and I must say, this wedding is especially near and dear to me!  I have spent a good amount of my childhood summers cottaging on Lake Huron in a quaint little town known as Bayfield, which is a hop, skip and a jump away from where this wedding took place, in Goderich.  The bride and groom; Katie and Kevin are so charming, and there are so many adorable details and personal touches for you to pour over, like her father’s band playing at their reception! Voila!

As I spend the majority of my days scouring the internet for beautiful weddings to “ooh” and “ahh” over, I have come across a great deal of beautiful engagement shoots which (can you guess?!) has inspired today’s post!  Scott Williams of Capturing the Light Photography, was kind enough to share an engagement shoot with us of a really cute couple he had photographed this summer! Enjoy!

The talented Lisa Mark sent us one of her recent weddings held at Graydon Hall Manor. Here’s what she had to say about the day of events for this intimate affair.

“ A gorgeous Spring day awaited Sarah & Jeff who said their “I do’s” in front of family and friends in the courtyard of stunning Graydon Hall Manor.”

Graydon Hall Manor Wedding

Graydon Hall Manor Wedding Ceremony

“The day began with Sarah and her bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suite.  One of my favourite features of Graydon Hall is the sweeping staircase with an ornate crystal chandelier hanging above.  A mirror is perfectly positioned on the wall opposite the staircase, making it a perfect photo opportunity for an elegant bridal portrait.

Once the girls and guys were ready, the Groom Jeff headed outside to await “the reveal” of his Bride.  You see, when we do photos before the ceremony, we photograph the couple’s first glimpse of each other.  This way you still have the element of that first look, even if it’s not while she’s coming down the aisle.  Jeff waited alone in the middle of the courtyard, making for a cool ‘lone Groom’ image I quite like.”

Graydon Hall Manor Outdoor Ceremony

“After the big reveal and some photos around the Manor, we did family formals and the most adorable thing happened.  While I was shooting some images of the flower girl and ring bearer (who are brother and sister are get along like best friends) I asked the flower girl to give her brother a kiss.  Out of nowhere both kids turned and kissed each other on the lips!  It was too adorable and everyone laughed at how sweet it was – a really priceless moment.

The outdoor ceremony took place on the grounds and the bridal party had quite the grand entrance walking from the Manor into the garden.  Bruce Monro did a lovely job officiating the wedding, and guests enjoyed cocktails in the courtyard following the sunny ceremony.”

Graydon Hall Manor Reception

“Let me just say that the food at Graydon Hall Manor was excellent.  Really amazing.  Justin and I were very impressed not only with the staff and how kind and helpful everyone was (especially Jacqueline), but we also loved the food.  The cinnamon ice cream was particularly fabulous.

A big thank you to Sarah and Jeff, and their friends and family.  You made our jobs easy and we loved loved loved working with you.  Thank you to Graydon Hall as well – you did a fantastic job with everything, and I know the Bride and Groom were thrilled.” –  Lisa Mark Photography
