2010 Bridal Market Show

Since styling her sister Sandy on her wedding day, stylist Ashley Braz has embraced the world of bridal fashion wholeheartedly, visiting designers, keeping up to date on current trends and heading to New York twice a year to better understand what’s in demand and what’s best for her brides.  An attendee at runway shows by some of today’s hottest bridal designers – including Amsale, Kenneth Pool, Melissa Sweet, Priscilla of Boston and Platinum – Ashley makes a point of putting her clients first, using her eye for fashion to help guide brides on their special day.

“I just jump on every opportunity to visit tiny studios with fabulous designers launching their latest collections of precious jewels, veils, shoes and everything in between,” she began.  “Together, we talk about you, our future brides and bridesmaids.  My desire is to share your vision and show you a style you’ll love and ultimately find a dress you love.”

“During every trip I analyze designer sketches in look books, make notes during runway shows, snap photos, chat with designers and editors, and style forecast for my brides at least a year in advance,” she continued.  “Ultimately, my goal is to fly home with international inspiration, blooming trends and ideas to share with my brides.”

Ashley’s affinity for bridal fashion began when she styled her sister years ago – a reason why her job means so much to her today.

“The first bride I ever styled was my sister, Sandy – still a vivid memory,” she explained. “Together, [we] worked on a vision.  We knew we needed to find something “different”.  It began when she popped out from behind the white linen curtains in a powder ivory, Swiss dot, eight layer, silk organza gown with a flirtatious accent ruffle and a soft sash . . . and there it was.  Perfection!”

“The first dress quickly became the one and from that day forward I was hired as the bridal stylist working in a luscious bridal boutique styling brides from all over the country.”

A stylist unlike any other, Ashley’s flair for the original and her ability to make each client feel like the queen that she is has set her apart from others in the industry, cementing her status as someone that not only cares about her job, but cares about her brides.

“My philosophy is: feel fresh and polished,” she shared.  “I believe your wedding gown should reflect you and your personality.  Treat yourself to a gown [that] makes you feel sensual and beautiful and wonderful because I promise you, it’s a feeling you won’t shake.  You’ll always hold on to the thrill of that one fine day.”

And as one of our newest bloggers, Ashley looks forward to sharing her ideas and expertise with the readers of Toronto Wedding Society.

“To all new brides search for that perfect look, I’d love to style you and your maids,” she revealed.  “Whether your look is soft and vintage, sweet and flirty, sophisticated and classic or old Hollywood glam, let’s find everything you love and bring it along with you for your wedding day.”

“My blog-to-be will launch this month – just in time for wedding season!” she concluded.  “I look forward to working with you.”

Ashley is definitely fashion forward. It would be a big mistake to pass on her talent and eye and her warm, bubbly spirits.
