Trevor and Larissa of Ambient Studios captured this classic black and white wedding last August. You can check out the full post here.
Here’s what Ambient Studios had to say about Erin and Ryan’s wedding
“With this wedding it was all about the details: from the rose petals scattered on the church aisle to the custom-designed logo and place cards this couple really put together something special. We started off the morning with photos of everyone getting ready, the ladies lounged in style at the Park Hyatt, fussing over Erin and ensuring that everything went according to plan. Trevor hung out with Ryan and the guys at their stylish condo before hoping on the Subway and heading downtown for the UofT ceremony. This was not only a great twist to the morning, but a fantastic photo opportunity as well!
Anyone who has been to the ceremony area at Knox College chapel at The University of Toronto can tell you – it’s simply stunning. The ambient light filters in through the old stained-glass windows and grand stone archways welcome your guests as they approach the rod-iron doors. We of course took advantage of the grounds after the ceremony for family photos outdoors and wondered the area a little with our newly weds before heading downtown to the reception at the lovely Brassaii Restaurant.
When we chatted with Erin & Ryan in our pre-ceremony review they mentioned that they wanted an elegant, yet urban set of images from their photos downtown -something funky yet classy- a challenge Trevor & I were excited to take on. The weather was on our side that Sunday and we ventured around the King Street area in search of the prefect backdrop. The modern, graphic bridesmaids dresses (and the very photogenic ladies wearing them) were the perfect compliment to our urban setting. The whole bridal party was in great spirits and we had a blast working with everyone in nearby alleys, loading docks, patios and throughout the King West area.
We stumbled upon the perfect location to work with Erin & Ryan, a wall painted in their wedding colours (we couldn’t have planned it better if we tried!) and stole a few moments with the newly weds before the reception began. Erin & Ryan were adorable- practicing their first dance in the parking lot and taking advantage of their quiet time together before the reception began. Needless to say, they made our job’s easy!
The reception at Brassaii was amazing- not only is this a great location with an amazing atmosphere, outdoor patio and personable staff, but the food is delicious! Erin & Ryan took advantage of the patio for their first dance and we moved inside for some great speeches, toasts, dinner and lots of dancing. It was a fantastic day from beginning to end, Cachelle from Savoir Flare was there throughout the day to ensure that everything ran smoothly. With this organized bride and the help of her talented planner everything stayed on track and the day went off without a hitch, once again congratulations to our couple, we had an amazing time working with you both!”
