Naushin from Love, Paper & Ink, a custom wedding stationery boutique based in Toronto submitted these fun vintage inspired wedding invitations.
We couldn’t have worded it any better ourselves – so here’s what Naushin had to say!
The invitation was loosely based on a vintage library theme (the bride is a librarian), and we used a telegram as our vintage starting point. To personalize the suite further, we added little touches like making the “form number” the digits of their first date and adding in Exclusive Connection with “Perfect Union” Cable Company, instead of Western Union. As a nod to the bride’s French heritage, and one of her favourite songs, we featured the phrase “Et nous ferons de chaque jour tout une éternité d’amour” (And we will make of everyday an eternity of love) on the invitation. The heart-in-a-circle logo was custom-designed for the couple & carried throughout their stationery; I gave it a smudged border and font treatment to more accurately reflect its role as a “stamp” on the telegram.
This suite was letter pressed on thick cotton paper and comprised of a wedding invitation, RSVP card, and Time-line card for out-of-town guests. Matching place cards and table numbers were also designed- these were printed digitally; the tented place cards were sized to sit in library drawers in front of a vintage typewriter that guests used to type out their well-wishes for the couple. The Thank You cards were also letter pressed, with simply the words “Merci/Thank You” in front, and the couple’s logo and wedding date on the back of the card.
A 6’ poster was designed with the phrase “For Ever Ever” to serve as a backdrop for the head table at the reception. As it happened, rain prevented the outdoor wedding from taking place so the poster also served as a last-minute indoor focal point in front of which the couple exchanged their vows.
The main idea with this suite was to create something vintage-inspired and lively, and not to take the themes too seriously. Most importantly, they were designed to reflect the fun-loving, relaxed nature of the wedding and the couple themselves.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend pictures were there to take these lovely photographs below! Jess and Vanessa are two of our favorite photographers in the Toronto area!

I adore these paper goods! Especially the little schedule cards. So cute.
So refreshing to see something OTHER than the requisite floral!
As the bride whose stationery this is, I can’t say enough good things about Love, Paper and Ink.
I went in with a very vague idea of what I wanted my invitations to look like, and only a slightly better idea of what I *didn’t* want. After speaking with me and getting a feel for what kind of wedding we would be having, Naushin presented me with a series of ideas and different directions she thought I might like.
She worked very collaboratively with me, was extremely creative and flexible and truly the final product is so perfectly us I have no idea how she came up with it.
And what all our guests now know, one of the things that makes the time-line card so awesome is the fact that the icon (sadly?) perfectly matches our mad dancing skillz.
I could not recommend Love, Paper and Ink more.
In fact, I’ve already commissioned her once more since the wedding to do invitations for my in-laws’ 40th wedding anniversary party and am speaking to her again about another upcoming family event shortly.
Great site. A lot of useful information here. I’m sending it to some friends!
